Question:  I am 27 and have been smoking for almost 6 years now. I reside in Mumbai, India.

Is there any way by which you can help me to stop smoking?

Answer:
Namaste N.,

Sure thing I can help you quit smoking, it is easy, in one email I can help you, here, now, right this instance - lets do it!

There's conflict and when this conflict is resolved all comes to a place of peace and rightness. You are that place N. and you know it. Yet, a conflict is hanging in the sky like a cloud prevents the light of sun to shine it truth on you.

Smoking is gratifying in many way, you need that gratification, instantaneous and rewarding. You need the cigarette in your mouth to cork up the bottle of emptiness from within.   The satisfaction of being a healthy and free is immeasurably greater why compromise for less than is yours by nature?   What will you choose; a satisfaction that will shorten you life, through disgraceful disease and ignoble suffering, or a joy that will be in accordance with life and in harmony with it?   Who is the fool who settles for nicotine when prana is abundantly available? (it is not you, but this fool lives in your house - make sure he is a respectable guest or otherwise make him an invitation to use another hostel).

The conflict is resolved when you come to yourself, to the realization that life is sacred and we are here to serve. If we are here to serve, we have to make sure the form we are in is properly maintained. Smoking is creating a cloud above your head, N., literally and symbolically.   Have compassion for the smokers for they depend an a complex chemical concoction for a bit of artificial grace, have compassion for them, have compassion for that fool that is your guest.

Stop smoking now and never envy, never crave, just have compassion for the smokers for they are digging their own grave.   We are here to live, we are here to serve, surrender to that, obey that and be free.   It is easy. Don't believe the voices in you that suggest it is difficult, don't believe that grieving child screaming for the lost of his toy, have compassion for him but don't buy his petit attempt to rationalize things as your truth.

Be free N., smoking is just an act symbolizing the shackles you carry. The prison's door is open....cut yourself free, not tomorrow, now...

Yours in service,   Yossi.
