Just experiment and see if the following technique works for you.
The mind and body are interconnected. Any phenomenon is always manifested in both. Actually, mind and body are one. Any negative emotion you experience (or positive one, for that matter) is fully manifested in the body as well. This is due to the fact that the mind and body are one, but our senses are not subtle enough to grasp that. Observing this phenomenon is an acquired practice.
In fact, we are a 'particle-wave' phenomenon. Our solidity is an illusion. We are made of molecules; the molecules when broken down are made of atoms, the atoms are made of subatomic particles; and the subatomic particles are actually a wave of energy.
This can be important if you train yourself to penetrate and experience the oneness that your mind and body is.
We will now focus on the problem of stress as a hazard to your nicotine-free lifestyle.
You can dissolve stress and negative feelings by catching them in their manifestation in the body, rather than trying to play mind games that are bound to confuse you even more.
'Catching them in the body' is not an expression - it is a practice that takes effort and time. Basically it is a form of meditation where you do nothing but observe. You don't attempt to do anything, no effort of any kind, you just observe. A good preparation for this technique is the lung connection meditation that we have practiced before.
The technique for stress management meditation will appear in today's Discourse. You are invited to experiment with it. |
