Proactive Action for Session Five |
1. You are much stronger than you imagine yourself to be, and this tremendous strength upsurges naturally in a survival situation. This is a survival situation, a real fight or flight situation. Once you have truly acknowledged that, you will be empowered by strength that you didn't know you had. You can do it, for sure!
2. Once you have made it, a decision has great meaning. It is time to make a brave decision now - yes or no, no more hesitation or conflict.
3. Once you have made the decision, a sense of relief will spread throughout your body and mind. You will feel much more relaxed and there will be no more inner conflicts, no more procrastination. The decision has been made and you will regain a great deal of wasted energy. You have pondered enough and now it is time to act. Take action!
4. Take to the action like a warrior, decisive and brave. The decision was made and there's no looking back. You are going to walk forward, no matter what. Challenges will arise, but you will not be surprised because you are expecting them eagerly, ready to meet them at any time.
Pleasure and pain are motivational tools - witness the way in which an animal is tamed with a stick and an ensuing reward. However, you are a far more intelligent life form, so choose the pain of quitting and willingly sacrifice the false pleasure of smoking. Before you know it, you will achieve just what you wanted. The satisfaction of success will give you ten times the pleasure of smoking, and you'll be rid of the pain and the disease once and for all.
5. You are not alone, so don't hesitate to lean on friends if you need them. You are also invited to read our Discourse Column every day to get more ideas and tools to serve you as you go.
6. Remind yourself that you have made it so far, and you will make it all the way. Don't leave any space for other possibilities. You are a winner, for sure! | |
